    • F is played with a forked fingering.

  • German :

    • Came after the Baroque version.

    • Has a G on the back.

    • F no longer uses forked fingering.

    • Apparently the German system originated from a historical mistake in the 20th century.

  • "Although it is easier to play F on the German recorder, some experts say it is out of tune, so they recommend the Baroque system."

  • There is a difference in fingering due to the position of one of the holes.
